Carey Ballinger, LPCC
Carey earned her Master’s degree in counseling from University of Dayton. Currently, she also holds a license to teach in the State of Ohio, as well as her license for school counseling. Carey is a licensed clinical counselor with over seven years of professional experience in a private setting.
Carey utilizes a compassionate but motivational approach to therapy regardless of the current issue. Her clinical focus is working with families in high-stress situations. Couples who are dealing with the heartache of infidelity, divorce, or intimacy issues; families trying to “blend” together under one roof; parents needing help with a “conflict-heavy” relationship with their teen. She works best with ages 13 and up.
Another area of specialty that Carey is passionate about is helping women navigate through the following: being overworked and underpaid, resentful for doing most of the work most of the time, tired due to lack of self-care — because there is no time/energy/money left at the end of the day, filled with guilt in taking time for oneself, overwhelmed with most every aspect of life because the tried and true tactics of mustering through tough spots, are just not working anymore.
Carey also uses E-therapy or online counseling via webcam to accommodate clients who travel or prefer to engage in therapy from their home, however, insurance cannot be billed for such services at this time.
Carey currently accepts Aetna, Anthem BlueCross BlueShield, Golden Rule, Magellan, UHC, United Health Care, UMR, Medical Mutual, and Mutual Health Services. Other forms of payment include cash, check, credit cards, and HSA cards.
We recommend for all new clients to check with their insurance company prior to the initial appointment to verify coverage for services. Occasionally, insurance companies will have different rules and coverage for mental health services.
